The construction work for the new recycling centre of Stadtwerke Rodgau is progressing well. For several weeks now, work has been underway on the site next to the previous recycling centre for a much larger and more modern facility. Now the next construction phase is about to begin: From 3 November, the access road to the recycling centre will have to be changed for around three weeks. Despite the construction work, the recycling centre will remain open - all citizens can continue to drop off their recyclables. Clear signage and staff on site will provide guidance. In some cases, there may be short waiting times as there is less space available during the construction phase. "This small restriction is worth it, as the new recycling centre will offer significantly more space, convenience and service in the coming year," says Operations Manager Markus Ebel-Waldmann. The modernised recycling centre brings clear benefits for citizens. They have more drop-off options and will also be able to dispose of materials such as treated wood, plaster waste, car tyres and fire extinguishers in future. This will shorten distances, as many materials that could previously only be disposed of via private waste disposal companies in the neighbourhood can now be disposed of conveniently and promptly on site. This extended offer is a voluntary service provided by Stadtwerke. As with other waste disposal companies, it is charged according to actual use and is not covered by the basic and minimum charge for the residual waste bin. The use of the rodgaucard, the online system that is already established in the town of Rodgau, is a prerequisite for all chargeable recyclables. Consequently, the authorisation to use the recycling centre and composting facility will also be linked to the rodgaucard. The previous paper authorisation form is no longer required.
