With the start of the toad migration, depending on the weather between the end of February and mid-March, two toad barriers at the sewage treatment plant and at the Tannenmühle in Weiskirchen will be closed again from 11 February. It will then not be possible to drive through the main road between the sewage treatment plant and Tannenmühle in the evening and at night from 6.30 pm to 6.30 am. The start and end of the toad migration will be announced promptly and signposts with the words "Attention road closure" will be placed in front of the bridge over the A3 and at the Tannenmühle. As many animals as possible will be collected in the evening and morning by the active environmentalists and carried across the road. All residents can also contribute to amphibian protection by driving carefully and slowly to their properties. The collection of the amphibians is coordinated by the Rodgau Nature Conservation Association. Anyone interested can obtain information on this from NABU board member Rudolf Siebert by email (r.siebert@nabu-rodgau.de) or alternatively by mobile phone at 015161420837. NABU asks you not to search for the animals with sticks in the forest or at the edge of the forest without authorisation, as the toads often hide under leaves and can be trampled to death. The committed helpers hope for the understanding of the citizens for the protection of the common toads.
