The reading "Tierisch menschlich! - A lyrical bestiary" will take place on 15 December at 3 pm in the Rodgau-Galerie, Niewpoorter Straße 90. Animals are the subject of many German-language poems. And they are always about people. Loved, envied, loathed, the animal world is always a mirror of the human, most clearly in the fable. In around 60 minutes, cultural director Winno Sahm will present and comment on an entertaining, multifaceted selection of animal poetry. Busch, Morgenstern, Ringelnatz, Rilke and Kästner, among others, will contribute to the poetic fauna. The texts accompany the current exhibition: "My dear swan" in the Rodgau Gallery. Bianca Theater and Katja Gehrung are showing wooden sculptures and photographs of animal seriousness. Although both work in completely different art media, they harmonise in their humorous, fairytale-like and mysterious realisation. Theatre initially works with a chainsaw and gives her figures a finishing touch at the end. Gehrung always photographs with a self-timer and only herself as the model. The gallery is open on Wednesdays from 6 pm to 9 pm and on Sundays from 2 pm to 6 pm. The exhibition lasts until 15 January. Admission is free.
