Carnival parade in Rodgau

The carnival procession will be winding its way through the streets of Giesem again this year on Shrove Tuesday, 13 February. Stopping is prohibited on both sides along the entire route of the procession - signs will indicate this. The streets will be closed to motorised traffic from 2 pm to 6 pm. The procession will line up in Weiskircher Straße, between Ludwigstraße and Alter Weg. The procession then continues along Alter Weg, Eisenbahnstraße, Dudenhöfer Straße, Südring, Babenhäuser Straße, Ostring, Landwehrstraße, Ludwigstraße, Hochstädter Straße, Weiskircher Straße, Vordergasse and Konrad-Kappler-Straße to Jügesheim railway station. Here the carnival procession disperses. Police officers from the town of Rodgau will accompany the procession and provide additional security. Their instructions must therefore be followed at all times. Stadtwerke will divert the school/city bus routes and bus route 99 on this day.

The road closures and diversions associated with the big carnival parade in Jügesheim will cause extensive disruption for road users. The route of the procession will be marked with no parking signs three days before the procession, drawing attention to the extensive parking ban on Shrove Tuesday. The route of the procession will be checked in good time before the start of the procession and vehicles within the parking bans will be towed away. Even if the carnival procession does not start until 2 p.m., towing measures can be expected in the late morning. The time required for towing makes it necessary for the police to intervene early. The public order authorities therefore strongly recommend that all vehicles be removed from the route of the procession by 10.30 am. During the procession, the district of Jügesheim should be driven around extensively. From 12:30 to approx. 17:30, many streets in Jügesheim will not be accessible. For safety reasons, it must be ensured that the roads leading to the parade route are also closed to traffic. All visible barriers must be strictly observed. The stewards must not allow any vehicles to drive through on demand. Safety before convenience also applies on Shrove Tuesday! When the train ends at the station, the barriers on the train route will be lifted. There will be several drinks stands at the railway station where people can linger and celebrate. For this reason, Eisenbahnstraße, between Blumenstraße and the junction to the Omega Tunnel, will remain closed until around 8pm. If the weather is good, people can party on the street until 6.30 pm at the latest. By then at the latest, the local pubs will stop selling drinks outside. The clean-up work must then begin in order to make the square available to regular road traffic again. The celebrations can then continue in the town's pubs. The police will provide the necessary security on site in appropriate numbers until the area is open to traffic.
