Heimat X is a journey through the cultural history of Rodgau up to the present day. The exhibition by the Rodgau town archives in cooperation with the Agency for Culture, Sport and Volunteering can be seen in the Rodgau Gallery, Nieuwpoorter Straße 90, from 17 July to 25 August. It shows the changes in the communities in photos, historical documents and motif maps. It looks at the tradition of the village lime trees and the significance of the gallows oaks. It looks at the development of the church fair into the Kerb and the roots of the sports clubs. The repression and liberation in the Rollwald Nazi camp are described. Heimat X poses the question of the understanding of home on a personal and cultural level. The X is like a variable that can be filled in individually. It describes the use and misuse of the concept of Heimat in many different forms. Heimat X is a stimulus to engage with formative cultural and historical developments on site. The conscious examination is not only a look back, but always also an impulse for understanding the present and shaping the future. The exhibition begins with a vernissage on Wednesday, 17 July, at 6 pm, to which you are cordially invited. Interested parties can also join a guided tour of the exhibition on Sunday, 28 July at 3 pm. The opening hours of the Rodgau Gallery are Wednesdays from 6 to 9 pm and Sundays from 2 to 6 pm. Admission is free.
