Rodgauer JugendART presents the artists of tomorrow

Rodgauer JugendART will take place on 8 and 9 June in the youth centre at Freiherr-vom-Stein Straße 8 in Rodgau Dudenhofen. Nine young individual artists will be showing their creative works here. Manga drawings, digital art, large-format paintings, metal sculptures, clay works and much more will be on display. For the first time, a young jewellery designer will be on site with her work. She lives in Dudenhofen and is a trained goldsmith. The Georg Büchner School and the Geschwister Scholl School from Rodgau as well as the Stephan Gruber School from Eppertshausen will be presenting works from their art lessons in the exhibition. JugendART provides the space for these objects, which otherwise rarely attract public attention. A special feature this year are the paintings by Ukrainian children from the Hanau-based Art 13 association, in which war experiences are processed artistically, sometimes bitterly, sometimes full of hope or longing. They symbolise all children affected by war worldwide. Young musicians and dancers can try out their skills on the stage. On Saturday, two bands from the Freie Musikschule Rodgau e.V. led by Sebastian Schönhals and a young violinist from Joachim Grothe's lessons will be entertaining the audience. On Sunday, four singers from the music school will give their best under the direction of Sabine Bussalb and Katharina Weltzien-Falk. The 'Tanzbetrieb' dance school run by Darien Joy Becker from Rodgau has a surprise in store. Workshops will be held in the outdoor area, where young and old can try their hand. Artistic blacksmith Joachim Harbut will also be back. Under the motto "Every man forges his own luck", he will be forging a lucky pig with visitors. Birgit Mayer-Tauber will be offering creative pennant painting. Pens, paints, glitter and much more are available for the colourful design. All the pennants will be sewn together to form a chain, with the aim of parading it through Rodgau at some point. NABU Rodgau will guide and support interested young people in building a birdhouse. Coffee, cake, soft drinks and hot dogs will be provided by staff and young people from the youth centre. The joint event organised by the Culture, Sport and Volunteering Agency and the Youth Department of the City of Rodgau will take place on Saturday, 8 June from 4 to 7 pm and on Sunday, 9 June from 2 to 5 pm. Winno Sahm, Head of Cultural Affairs, will give introductory speeches at the beginning of each event. Admission is free. When travelling to the event on Saturday, please note that the Steini Run will be taking place in Freiherr-vom-Stein-Straße at the same time. The organisers ask you to arrive on foot or by bike if possible.
