The town of Rodgau would like to draw the attention of all citizens to an important change in the disposal of organic waste. From 1 May, a new nationwide ordinance will come into force that sets stricter guidelines for the quality of organic waste. This applies in particular to the permissible proportion of foreign matter. Organic waste from Rodgau is collected by the waste disposal company Knettenbrech & Gurdulic and recycled by Rhein-Main-Biokompost GmbH The basic rule is that organic waste should be free of any foreign matter. However, if an excessive amount of foreign matter is found on delivery, the load in question will be rejected. In such cases, the organic waste must be incinerated as residual waste. The additional expenses and incineration costs associated with this will be charged to the city of Rodgau. These additional costs ultimately also affect the calculation of charges for citizens. In order to avoid unnecessary costs and inefficient disposal, the city of Rodgau urgently appeals to all households to carefully observe the new regulation and to fill their organic waste properly. The waste disposal company's employees are already carrying out visual checks. In the event of obvious misfilling, the organic waste bin will not be emptied in future and will be left standing. The city of Rodgau asks for the help of all citizens to ensure high-quality recycling of organic waste and to avoid unnecessary costs. If you have any questions about how to fill the organic waste bin correctly, please contact the waste disposal management team at the municipal utility company.
