The "book dwarves" invite you to the Nieder-Roden public library on 19 September at 10 am. The event is aimed at children between the ages of 1 and 3 with accompanying person(s) and offers a colourful programme all about the world of books and stories. Together, children can discover picture books and experience the Japanese storytelling theatre Kamishibai. There are also songs, finger plays and age-appropriate craft activities. Admission is free, but prior registration is required via buecherei@rodgau.de. The earliest possible contact with books and regular reading aloud is extremely important for children's development, as language and writing accompany us throughout our lives. Looking at picture books together plays a special role in this. Storytelling and reading aloud stimulates the early childhood imagination, while at the same time training concentration, vocabulary and a feeling for language. This makes learning to read at school easier later on. Even the youngest children lay the foundations for acquiring reading skills and a love of reading, creating a stable foundation on which to build their future education, career choices and successful participation in society. In addition, looking at books together and reading aloud is simply fun. Further dates this year will take place on 24 October, 21 November and 19 December.
