Author Andrea A. Walter aka Fanny Svoboda will be reading from her latest crime novel "Sonnwendmord" on Thursday, 18 September at 7 pm in the Nieder-Roden public library. With the second volume after "Marillenknödelmord", the black-humoured crime cult continues. The reading is part of the literary festival Leseland Hessen with the kind support of the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Art and Culture, the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Hessen-Thüringen and hr2 Kultur. "Sonnwendmord" once again takes readers to the fictional village of Wachau, where the body of doctor's assistant Christel Hulatsch is discovered in a fire during the midsummer celebrations. Crime writer Horvath wants to get to the bottom of the matter - but it's not that easy, because hardly anyone preferred Hulatsch alive to dead. Together with his girlfriend Mimi, he represents the dead woman undercover in Dr Freilich's practice, catapulting himself from one catastrophe to the next. In the process, he gets ever closer to the murderer ... perhaps a little too close. Suspense and scurrility with a dose of Austrian humour characterise this endearing crime comedy. Andrea Walter is increasingly developing from a newcomer into one of the most sought-after names on the German-Austrian crime fiction scene. Admission is free, registration is requested. Registration is possible by telephone on 06106 693 1322, by e-mail to buecherei@rodgau.de or on site at the Nieder-Roden and Jügesheim libraries.
