New Year's cabaret with Benjamin Eisenberg and guests

For fifteen years, Benjamin Eisenberg has been hosting the "New Year's Cabaret" in his home town of Bottrop, a cabaret mix show at the beginning of the year that combines retrospective themes and the best of his guests' programmes. This season, the show is making its Hesse premiere and will be coming to the Bürgerhaus Nieder-Roden, Römerstraße 15, on Friday, 16 January at 8 p.m. Together with his cabaret colleagues, Eisenberg wants to give the audience a humorous start to the new year. The past will be laughed at and the future is expected to be cheerful. The cabaret artist from "Innovation City" always has current topics from politics and society in his sights and always includes parodies of well-known personalities in his multimedia all-round hit. In order to offer the audience a varied evening of stand-up comedy, political satire, witty poetry and musical cabaret, Benjamin Eisenberg has invited a wide variety of stage colleagues. Regular guest is piano cabaret artist Matthias Reuter, whose songs and lyrics are often played on WDR radio. The "Elton John from Oberhausen" not only presents funny stories from his books and quirky jazzy songs on the piano, but also often has his guitar with him. He is currently touring with his solo "Ich bin noch gut!". Because he guarantees that in times of AI. His lyrics contain views that no computer would ever share. He probably also has some of his new 60-second poems with him, in which he summarises classics such as "William Tell" or "Die Hard". With his motto "positive against it", Reuter has already won many an award in recent years: "Tegtmeiers Erben" (2011), the "Dresdner Satirepreis" 2019 (jury and audience award) or the "Herborner Schlumpeweck" (2020) are just a few of them. Bochum-based music cabaret artist Christian Hirdes will also be there. Born and bred in the Ruhr region, he has been performing on comedy and cabaret stages for almost 30 years, winning prestigious cabaret awards such as the "Prix Pantheon" and the "St. Ingberter Pfanne", and thrilling viewers on "TV total" with his witty stories about "Lisa and her four Chinese girlfriends". His book "Komischer Poet" was published in 2024 with the symptomatic subtitle "Sprachspielschäden aus fünf Dekäden", from which he will present one or two gems. Hirdes is also a football fan and will certainly be passionate about this broad field in retrospect. The third member of the group is a true multi-talent: Sabine Murza alias Murzarella doesn't make her puppets dance, she makes them sing. And she does so in three different voices and at an excellent level. "Belly songs and other inconsistencies" is the title of her music puppet show. In it, the cute cockatoo Dudu has it thick as a fist in his neck feathers. He never misses an opportunity to get Murzarella into embarrassing situations and tweets about her problem areas, while manager and accountant Mrs Adelheid has already had a tweet before the show and is tipsy and self-indulgent. And then there's the sewer rat Kalle from Gelsenkirchen: Heavy metal and Schalke fan. The self-confident puppets enjoy their performance. But Murzarella's world is also the stage and so the incredibly versatile professional singer really steps on the gas as a rock singer, pop diva and chansonette.
