Once again this year, the town of Rodgau draws attention to the ordinance on the obligation to keep all dogs on a lead and the duty to supervise other animals. The obligation to keep dogs on a lead regulated therein applies during the breeding and rearing season from 15 February to 15 June of each year outside built-up areas in the entire field and meadow area. It serves to protect wild animals. In particular, it is intended to protect young game and songbirds breeding close to the ground and on the ground. The specific ordinance on the obligation to wear a lead can be viewed at www.rodgau.de (local law - public safety and order). Not only is the obligation to keep dogs on a lead discussed every year, but the following information should also be reminded again and again: Disgusting footprints left by four-legged friends on footpaths, playgrounds, green spaces or agricultural areas must be removed by dog walkers. Contamination of public areas by dog faeces can be punished with a fine of at least 50 euros. The city supports dog walkers in the event of an emergency, i.e. when they do not have their own bag to hand, with a total of 45 dog waste bag dispensers in the city area. Areas outside residential areas are often used to walk dogs. Parking in fields and forest areas away from designated car parks must be penalised. Illegal parking can be penalised with a warning fine of at least 55 euros. It is recommended that you start your walk where you can park properly (e.g. at the end of residential areas). According to the current dog tax statutes, dog owners are obliged to attach a valid and visible dog tax tag to their dog's collar.
