There are many reasons for a housing emergency: from the landlord's own requirements to financial bottlenecks due to changes in income or rising rents. Personal crises such as separation, pregnancy, illness or family changes can also present those affected with major challenges. To help citizens in these difficult situations, the city of Rodgau offers comprehensive counselling and support with its housing assistance service. This contact point supports people and intervenes preventively to avoid escalations such as eviction proceedings. Wohnraumhilfe offers a comprehensive range of services to ensure the preservation of housing. The main services include Crisis intervention in the event of termination and eviction proceedings to prevent the loss of housing; help with financial difficulties, such as rent debts or after losing a job; support in finding suitable housing, both in the social and private housing market; advice for landlords who need support with rent arrears, for example. Although applications for social housing or housing entitlement certificates can be made, the supply of social housing in Rodgau is limited. The city therefore encourages those affected to look for housing on their own. The housing assistance programme offers increased support in the search for housing on the private market. The city also appeals to landlords to get in touch with Wohnraumhilfe at an early stage in order to find solutions together in the event of rent arrears, cancellation or eviction proceedings and to secure housing for tenants. Juxhina Haziri and Bettina Quell from Wohnraumhilfe der Stadt Rodgau are available for personal counselling and further information. Appointments can be made by telephone on 06106-6931681 (letters A-F) or 06106-6931270 (letters G-Z) and by email via wohnraumhilfe@rodgau.de.
