Large numbers of dead fish were spotted in the Rodau on the afternoon of 29 July. The locations confirmed by the city were in Jügesheim, Dudenhofen and Nieder-Roden. One day later, dead fish were also found in Hainhausen. Both the neighbouring municipalities and the Lower Water Authority have been informed. It has not yet been possible to determine the cause of the fish deaths. Samples have been taken from the water and also from the dead fish. However, the laboratory analyses may take longer. The dead fish will be recovered from the Rodau if they can be found. Even if no cause for the fish death has yet been determined and therefore no danger emanating from the Rodau can be confirmed, people and animals should stay away from the Rodau at the moment.
