The public library is celebrating Pride Month with a special exhibition of queer literature. Until 30 June, the library is presenting a selection of books that reflect the diversity and depth of the LGBTQ+ community. Why in June? Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York, a turning point for LGBTQ+ rights worldwide, when members of the LGBTQ+ community protested against police violence and discrimination. The exhibition aims to raise awareness of queer issues and promote cultural and literary diversity. On display are novels, non-fiction, biographies, children's books, comics and graphic novels, a selection that has something for all ages and interests. From sensitive children's books to sophisticated literary works, the exhibition offers space for discovery and reflection. The public library cordially invites all citizens to visit the libraries in Nieder-Roden and Jügesheim and be inspired by the diversity of queer literature.
