Anyone who loves books and also enjoys being creative can pursue their passions at two workshops in the Nieder-Roden public library. On Thursday, 12 June, participants will create mini bookshelves under the motto "Me, my shelf an I". In this way, stories become visible and participants' favourite books find a place. Small plants, candles, vases or other accessories are created from modelling clay around the books to complete the shelf. If you like, you can even give your shelf a themed touch: fantasy, romance, science fiction or classics - anything is possible. Participants will receive a prepared mini-shelf in either white, black, cream, pink or green - the desired colour can be specified when registering for the workshop. In addition, up to five book titles can be requested, the remaining books are surprise titles. On 26 June, participants will create detailed key rings with mini books, beads and charms - inspired by their favourite books. The charms are perfect for key rings, rucksacks or as gifts for booknerds. Two favourite titles can be specified when registering for the workshop. On the craft evening, each person will then receive two small 3D-printed books plus the personalised book covers. The key ring is then completed with beads and charms and put together. The courses run by Svetlana Olenik, a graduate designer and illustrator from Darmstadt, are characterised by loving preparation, creative ease and a great deal of appreciation for the shared experience and are aimed at adults and children aged 13 and over. Both workshops start at 6 pm and participation costs 10 euros each, including all materials, drinks and snacks. As places are limited, please register in person, by email at buecherei@rodgau.de or by phone on 06106 693 1322.
