Tilly fundraising campaign: Donations handed over to the Hospice am Wasserturm

Solidarity and team spirit are very important to the cleaning staff of the city of Rodgau. As part of the now traditional "Tilly fundraising campaign", the team collected the impressive sum of 2,800 euros this year. The proceeds have now been ceremoniously handed over to Claudia Bauer-Herzog, Director of the Hospice am Wasserturm. On behalf of the entire workforce, Garbriela Werner and Antje Göckler presented the symbolic cheque together with First City Councillor and patron Janika Martin. The sum marks a further increase on the previous year and is made up of the sale of over 40 home-baked cakes, the proceeds from handmade decorative items and donations from employees of the entire city administration, including the daycare centres. It is particularly worth emphasising that the entire cleaning team took care of all aspects of the event in their free time, without exception. At the meeting, hospice manager Claudia Bauer-Herzog presented the valuable work of the organisation, which is carried out daily by full-time staff and volunteers. She explained that the hospice relies on six-figure donations every year to maintain this service. In addition to the considerable monetary value, she emphasised the positive contribution the campaign makes to firmly anchoring hospice work in the public consciousness. In this context, she praised the commitment of the current 45 hospice volunteers and pointed out that a new course for those interested will start in April. First City Councillor Janika Martin was also deeply impressed by the team's commitment. She said that the special character of the team is characterised by the fact that everyone comes together voluntarily and with great enthusiasm in advance to make such successes possible. The Tilly fundraising campaign, which was launched in January 2023, has thus firmly established itself as a symbol of humanity within the municipal workforce. The city of Rodgau would like to thank everyone involved for their great willingness to donate.
