Sunflower competition for children

The Rodgau public library is once again organising a sunflower competition this year. Under the motto "Who has the tallest sunflower", children can sow sunflowers, nurture and care for them throughout the summer and learn a lot along the way. Sunflowers are relatively easy to cultivate and are therefore ideal for children to gain their first experience of gardening. The plants grow quickly and it is great fun for young and old to watch them grow. The sunflower seeds can be collected free of charge from the Nieder-Roden and Jügesheim libraries during opening hours from 23 to 27 March - while stocks last. The deadline for determining the height of the sunflower is 30 August. To take part, send a photo of the sunflower with a recognisable folding rule to buecherei@rodgau.de. The children with the five tallest sunflowers will each receive a book voucher. If you have any questions about the competition, please call the city library team on 693-1322.
