Rodgau is a member of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions and the European Union Germany. In addition to the European Diploma, the town of Rodgau has also been awarded the European Flag.
Since 1975, starting from the district of Dudenhofen, there have been regular exchanges with Nieuwpoort in Belgium and the town on the North Sea coast. This connection is kept alive through joint events and visits.

The district of Nieder-Roden has been linked to Hainburg an der Donau in Austria since 1974. This partnership demonstrates the shared historical roots and close cultural ties, as well as friendly relations on many levels.
There has also been a close relationship with Donja Stubica in Croatia since 2004. Here, cultural exchange takes centre stage and it becomes clear how important mutual understanding is for European cohesion.
