    • The Nieder-Roden fire chief Wolfgang Kern is elected as the new town fire inspector to succeed Helmut Rühl (Dudenhofen).
    • His deputy was Richard Bonn from the Weiskirchen volunteer fire brigade.
  • february

    • Carnival in Rodgau reaches its climax with the traditional carnival procession.
    • With financial support from the town, the "Gemeinsam mit Behinderten Rodgau e. V." association acquires the Heckelmann Mill near Diez.
  • March

    • In the elections to the German Bundestag, the
      • CDU 49.3 %
      • SPD 38.0 %
      • FDP 6.2 %
      • Greens 6.1 %
      of the electoral votes.
    • The city publishes a "Youth Info" for the first time.
    • The painter Willi Grimm and the pianist Stephan Hohlweg, both from the district of Nieder-Roden, receive the Rodgau Culture Prize for 1982 for their work.
    • Edith Bischoff from TG Jügesheim is honoured as "Sportswoman of the Year" at the town's winners' and honours evening.

    • In the Jügesheim district, companies, banks and retail outlets join forces to form a trade association, with lawyer and notary Dr Malte Armknecht elected as chairman.
    • The last two sisters of the Catholic parish of Nieder-Roden are bid farewell.
  • May

    • The head of the city's audit office, Alexander Pirang, is removed from this position and appointed head of the social administration office.
    • The "Edelweiß" Dudenhofen hiking club celebrates its 60th anniversary.
  • June

    • The new Jügesheim trade association presented itself to the general public for the first time with a "Gassefest".
    • The Nieder-Roden Volunteer Fire Brigade organises the 77th District Fire Brigade Day.
    • The Weiskirchen Sports Association celebrates its 90th anniversary with a flag dedication ceremony.
    • As every year, the town organises a varied holiday and excursion programme for its youngest citizens.
    • The 1st football team of SG Nieder-Roden becomes champion of the A class and is promoted to the district class.
  • July

    • The "water tower", a landmark of Rodgau visible from afar, is placed under a preservation order.
    • SV Jügesheim wins the football cup tournament for the 1983 city championship.
  • August

    • The Eghalanda Gmoi Rodgau celebrates its fifth anniversary with a flag dedication ceremony.
    • Rodgau's First Councillor Erich Hoffmann is elected Mayor of Pfungstadt and takes office on 1 January 1984.
    • The new Rodgau Railway Friends' Association organises the "Railway Days" at the railway station in Jügesheim for the first time.
    • The Nieder-Roden chapter of the German Association for the Protection of Birds celebrates its 25th anniversary.
    • Almost 2,000 participants spent some happy hours on the city's senior citizens' bus and boat trips to Miltenberg.
  • September

    • Rodgau/Weiskirchen and Udenhout in Holland are celebrating the tenth anniversary of the partnership between the two towns with a three-day festival.
    • The municipal children's festival in the Jügesheim forest leisure centre once again proved to be a great success.
    • The state election in Rodgau had the following result:
      • CDU 45.7%
      • SPD 42.1%
      • Greens 6.4%
      • FDP 5.1%
      • Other 0.7%

    • Hainhausen's local priest Fridolin Sely celebrates his 60th birthday.
    • The Weiskirchen Small Animal Breeding Association celebrates its 75th anniversary with an anniversary show.
  • November

    • The former mayor of Jügesheim, Adam Josef Jäger, dies at the age of 83.
    • The Ni-Ro-Ga, an exhibition organised by the Nieder-Roden trade association, is held for the first time in the comprehensive school with great success.
    • The Giesemer Fastnachter present Klaus and Ingrid Bischoff as the prince and princess of the 1983/84 campaign.
    • At the municipal art exhibition in the Dudenhofen community centre, 64 citizens show the results of their creative work.
    • Wolfgang Oehlschlägel, Chairman of the CDU parliamentary group, is elected as the new First City Councillor by the city council. He succeeds Erich Hoffmann on 1 January 1984.
  • December

    • The Christmas parties for Rodgau's senior citizens organised by the city and the respective local councils are well attended in all districts.
    • The head of the municipal library in the Nieder-Roden district, retired teacher Karl Müller, is honoured for 30 years of voluntary work.
    • The municipal council submits the concept for a central town hall to the city council.
