Road management

Stadtwerke Rodgau is responsible for all roads in the city of Rodgau. In this role, we plan new roads and paths, are responsible for the maintenance of bridges and roads and ensure road safety in Rodgau.

Road demolitions

Necessary road demolitions, e.g. when laying supply and disposal lines, can be requested from the road traffic authority.

No departments found.

Acceptance is then carried out by the municipal utilities as the road construction authority.

Utilities such as Energie Netze Offenbach or Maingau Energie mainly use the road area to lay their supply and disposal lines. IDEE: If you as a citizen require road demolition work, please contact the Infrastructure Management department.

  • How does road demolition work?

    1. The applicant is the initiator of the departure.
    2. The application for authorisation for road demolition must be submitted at least 14 days before the start of the planned work.
    3. After a road demolition the area must be restored so that it is technically equivalent to the original condition.
    4. Stadtwerke Rodgau, as the responsible road construction authority, ensures that construction is carried out correctly in accordance with the rules of technology.
    5. After completion of the construction work, completion must be notified.

Road maintenance

The municipal utilities are constantly working to maintain the roads, paths and bridges throughout Rodgau. The work ranges from minor maintenance work to thorough renovation.

  • What measures will the municipal utilities take on?

    • Maintenance: Maintenance and repair work on traffic areas (roads, farm tracks, footpaths and cycle paths) including the associated equipment (traffic signs, crash barriers, delineators, etc.)
    • Repairs: Repair work is either carried out by our own road construction workers or outsourced to qualified civil engineering companies.
    • Coordination: Our engineers coordinate the individual processes, monitor the implementation on site and ensure that the quality of the workmanship meets our safety and durability requirements.

Road project planning

As soon as new access roads have to be built, the Infrastructure Management department checks the necessary framework conditions together with the other specialist departments (Sewerage Department, Water Supply Department and external suppliers). In this way, we ensure proper construction realisation.

  • How does the planning and construction of new roads work?

While the urban planning department is generally responsible for the planning of new development areas and the Hessian State Company (HLG) is responsible for implementing the planning and construction of new roads in the course of development, the infrastructure management department provides technical support for the planning and assumes responsibility for the roads once they have been completed.

This only applies to public roads and paths, not private roads. The Infrastructure Management department is responsible for the maintenance and thorough renovation of existing road infrastructure
