Numerous children and adults took part in a rubbish collection campaign around Puiseauxplatz. The campaign took place as part of the city-wide "Clean Rodgau" initiative and was organised together with the "Unter dem Regenbogen" children's house. It was organised by the Nieder-Roden district office. With gloves, bin bags and plenty of motivation, the children set off to clear the square and surrounding areas of carelessly discarded rubbish. The young helpers were surprised at what ends up in the environment. At the same time, the participants were able to enjoy another activity: colourfully painted rabbits were distributed. These had previously been painted together with other children in a separate project led by artist Leila Shahmohammadi and created a spring-like atmosphere. The activities show how diverse engagement in the neighbourhood can be - from environmental awareness to creative hands-on projects - and how important it is to sensitise children to their surroundings at an early age.
