Mothers have been networking with each other at the family centre for a long time. The weekly meetings of the "Breastfeeding & Co Café" have given rise to other groups, such as the independent fitness workout group with babies: "Moms on a Mission - Sixpack Edition" meets every Monday morning from 9.30 to 10.30 am. The programme for mothers is now being expanded to include another format with the "Mama Connection" group. "After setting up the "Papa Connection" group, it was obvious for us to also create a corresponding offer for mums," explains Louisa Weil from the family centre. As part of her further training as a family centre coordination specialist at the Hesse State Service Centre for Family Centres, she actively addressed the question of what concerns mothers in Rodgau, what challenges they face and how the family centre can respond to this in order to support mothers and network with each other. An online survey among mothers not only revealed a great deal of interest in an exchange of ideas, but also in a deliberate meeting without children and in a quiet atmosphere. The offer starts on 23 May, 12:30 to 14:30. The "Mum Connection" meetings will then take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. The focus is on open and respectful dialogue between mothers. Topics can be varied and can range from everyday family life to personal challenges and mental health. However, the beautiful moments of being a mum should also find their place. "We are all in the same boat, we can share experiences, learn from each other and strengthen each other - and of course laugh," says the group's facilitator, Sandra Bell. Sandra Bell is herself a mother of two children and contributes her personal experience and professional expertise. She also runs courses for mothers from pregnancy to postnatal recovery and is currently training to become a pre- and postnatal coach. In this context, she accompanies mothers sensitively during the pregnancy phase, but also after the birth, and supports them in starting this new phase of life.
