The Energy department is mainly concerned with the topic of "energy-efficient refurbishment" of municipal buildings, such as the conversion of ceiling lighting to LED, funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), among others.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Refurbishment and upgrading of heating and ventilation systems in municipal buildings in line with energy efficiency criteria
• Preparation of consumption bills, analyses with regard to consumption and emission values
• Managing the purchase of energy
