Apply for a clearance certificate in accordance with the 1st Explosives Ordinance (non-commercial)
Service description
Anyone wishing to handle and/or purchase explosive substances (black powder, nitrocellulose powder) requires a licence in accordance with Section 27 of the Explosives Act (SprengG). In order to obtain such a licence, you must first attend a course to teach you the specialist knowledge required for the non-commercial handling and use of explosive substances. You require a clearance certificate for admission to this specialised training course. You will receive the clearance certificate upon application.

Which documents are required?
- Identity card / passport,
- Course certificate,
- Certificate of need (for muzzleloader shooters or reloaders),
- Membership certificate (gunners)
- valid hunting licence (hunter)
What fees are incurred?
The issue of a clearance certificate is subject to a fee. The fees are determined according to the administrative cost regulations for the area of responsibility of the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration (VwKost-HSM). The costs range between 30.00 - 250.00 euros.
What deadlines do I have to observe?
The application must be submitted in good time, at the latest 8 weeks before the intended participation in a course.
