Gaming machines with the possibility of winning: Installation licence

• You must first obtain all the necessary documents and submit them to the authority with the written application.
• The authority checks your commercial reliability
• If all requirements are met, you will receive the licence with a fee notice.

• A licence in accordance with Section 33c of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act (Gewerbeordnung) requires you to be reliable under trade law. Reliability is checked by the authorities when you apply for a licence.

• Certificate in tax matters from the tax office
  (to be applied for at the tax office in your place of residence)
   
• Identity card or passport with a current registration certificate
  (for representation with written power of attorney: identity card or passport of the authorised representative, as well as a copy of the identity card of the principal)
   
• Certificate of good conduct in document type OG (for submission to an authority)
  (to be applied for at the local registration office responsible for your place of residence)

• Information from the insolvency court as to whether proceedings have been opened
  (to be applied for at the local court of the place of residence)

• Information from the central trade register in document type 9
   

• Completed application form

• Certificate of instruction in player and youth protection
  (According to § 33c of the Trade and Commerce Code, a certificate from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce must prove that you have been instructed in the knowledge required to practise the trade).

• Social concept
  (A social concept must be submitted for a licence to set up gaming devices with the possibility of winning in accordance with Section 33c (2) of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act. The social concept describes the measures to be taken to prevent the socially harmful effects of gambling).

• Extract from the commercial register or, in the case of legal entities still being established, certificate of incorporation and partnership agreement

Application form

If you want to set up gaming machines with the possibility of winning commercially, you need a licence in accordance with Section 33c of the Trade, Commerce and Industry Regulation Act (Gewerbeordnung)

With a licence to set up gaming machines with the possibility of winning, you can set up gaming machines anywhere in Germany. Each installation site must be individually authorised by the competent authority. Gaming machines may only be set up once you have all the necessary licences.
