Applying for a special authorisation to offer goods and services on the street

Exceptions and authorisations in traffic
  • Service description

A permit is required for events where the number of participants or their behaviour takes up more public roads than is usual for traffic. Events requiring a permit include cycle races, cycle tours, fun runs, inline skating races, triathlon competitions, classic car or orienteering tours or similar events.

  • Which documents are required?

    Information is required on

    • the nature and occasion of the event,
    • Venue and date,
    • the duration of the event,
    • the number of participants / vehicles,
    • the route,
    • the starting method.
  • What fees are incurred?

The licence is subject to a fee.

  • What deadlines do I have to observe?

The application for authorisation of the respective event must be submitted approximately 2 months before the intended date.

It is essential that applications are submitted in good time, as the state authority must involve the lower road traffic authorities, the police and other bodies affected by the event.

The concerns, conditions or information (e.g. regarding local construction sites) expressed during this consultation procedure will be taken into account by the licensing authority when issuing the licence in order to ensure that the event runs smoothly
