Service description
The municipality is responsible for supplying the population with drinking water. It can transfer its obligation to supply water to other public bodies (e.g. associations) or to private third parties. Private companies are subject to price and competition law. They calculate water prices.
Public water suppliers are subject to the Hessian law on municipal charges. This contains the principle of cost recovery. The charges calculated according to this principle are fees or contributions.

Depending on the calculation, the water charge or the water price can be divided into a basic charge and a volume charge or presented only as a volume charge.

The customer will receive a one-off contribution to the costs of the new connection.
