  • Service description

    You can declare to the ID card authority at any time that you wish to use the previously inactive electronic proof of identity function from now on. This application is only permitted if

    • you are already 16 years old at the time of application and
    • the identity card is valid.

    The identity card authority will then activate the electronic proof of identity function free of charge.

    Responsibility lies with the identity card authority (Lord Mayor or Mayor) or the citizens' office of the municipality of residence.
