Exclusion from European elections

    Under certain circumstances, you may be excluded from participating in the European elections.
    If you have German citizenship, this is the case if you no longer have the right to vote due to a court decision.
    The same applies to you if you are a citizen of the European Union. In addition, you may lose your right to vote due to a civil or criminal judgement in your country of origin.

  • Procedure

    Exclusion from the European elections is as follows:

    • the courts send the corresponding judgements to the city or municipal administration,
    • the city or municipal administration notes the exclusion of the right to vote in the register of residents.
  • Prerequisites

    You have been deprived of your right to vote by a court decision in Germany or by a civil or criminal law decision in your country of origin.

  • Which documents are required?

    Judicial decision in Germany or civil or criminal judgement in the country of origin.
