Authorising or renewing a temporary and examination-free fishing licence
Service description
If you want to fish in Hesse, you must have a valid fishing licence and carry it with you. An exception is the so-called foreigner's fishing licence, which is issued for three consecutive months.
Without proof of having passed a fishing examination, you can be issued or extended a foreigner's fishing licence on application if you are not resident in Germany or are a member of the diplomatic corps and you can prove your expertise by presenting a foreign fishing licence or fishing permit.
Procedure
You can apply for a fishing licence for foreigners, including renewal, at your local municipal council.

The respective municipal council is responsible.

- You must be at least 14 years old.
- There are no grounds for refusal.
