Service description
If the electoral roll for the European elections contains incorrect information or is incomplete, you can have this corrected. This is only possible from the 20th day before the election (= start of the inspection period) following an objection or ex officio.
The objection is only possible until the 16th day before the election (= end of the inspection period). It must be submitted in writing or for recording at the municipality of residence. The
municipality decides on the objection by the 10th day before the election. An appeal against the decision may be lodged within two days of notification.
The municipality can correct the electoral roll at any time if it is obviously incorrect or incomplete.
The electoral roll is finalised no later than the day before the election.Procedure
You can have the electoral roll for the European elections corrected as follows:
- After consulting the electoral roll, you discover an error in the electoral roll or you are not registered although you are entitled to vote.
- You lodge an objection and substantiate the facts with suitable evidence.
- The authority corrects the electoral roll or sends a rejection notice. If you are subsequently registered, you will receive an election notification.
Prerequisites
- If the electoral roll proves to be incorrect, the electoral roll will be corrected.
- If proof of eligibility to vote can be provided despite the absence of an entry, the electoral roll will be supplemented accordingly.
