If you have an eID card and your address changes, you must also have your address changed on the chip of your eID card.

  • Service description

    If you have an eID card and your address changes, you must also have your address changed on your eID card. If you have a main place of residence, you must go to the eID card authority at your main place of residence to change the address on your eID card. The eID card authority is the identity card authority. If you are not required to register, the eID card authority in whose district you live at the time of the change of address is responsible for you.

    Your address is only changed on the chip of your eID card because no address is printed on the card itself.

    • You speak in person to the eID card authority responsible for you.
    • You present your current official registration confirmation and your valid eID card.
    • The eID card authority will then change your address on the chip of the eID card free of charge.

    You must have your new address changed immediately on the chip of your eID card.
