GERMAN

Theatre version of JOHN VON DÜFFEL based on the ZDFneo TV series of the same name.

The Schneiders and the Pielckes live in good neighbourly relations, fence to fence. They help each other out, have barbecues together and deliberately ignore differences of opinion on political issues. Their two sons, David and Marvin, are best friends and classmates. Then comes the federal election, in which the "blue party" with its clearly right-wing nationalist tones not only does well, but actually achieves a narrow majority of seats in the next Bundestag. What many had secretly hoped for, and even more had secretly feared as the worst nightmare, happened: the "Alternative for Germany" can govern alone in future! "At last they're getting a kick up the elitist arse", some think to themselves and put a few more lumps on the German grill, while others ask themselves, pale with horror: "How could this happen? Where were we when it could have been prevented?"
