New exhibition – "Imagination"

From 9 September to 4 November, Johanna Brynja Galland, Thorsten Frank (ToRos) and Thorsten Faber will be presenting their works in the exhibition “Imagination”, using Pan-Art painting, mixed media and photography. The artists aim to stimulate visitors’ imagination and spark their creativity.

The exhibition opening, featuring drinks, will take place on 9 September at 6 pm .

Information about the artist and the artists

  • Johanna Brynja Galland

Drawings, bursts of colour, lines and shapes by Johanna Brynja Galland – searching, finding, drifting – organic, plant-like forms meet mathematically constructed ones. The power of the imagination opens up new worlds: both within and without.

  • Thorsten Frank (ToRos)

Paintings in the Pan-Art style by Thorsten Frank (ToRos), the essence of which lies in perceiving oneself holistically, engaging all the senses, giving form and colour to emotions, recognising inner images in natural structures, and seeing, feeling and sensing in a multi-layered way.

  • Thorsten Faber

Photographic images by Thorsten Faber, whose origins lie in the urban environment. Decomposed and weathered (source) material, distorted and mirrored (photographic) material – this is how new patterns, forms, figures and symbols emerge. A journey of discovery through digitally reimagined worlds of (corrosion) imagery.

Past exhibition - "In the middle of the moment"

From 1 April to 27 May, visitors could marvel at paintings by Beate Perschbacher and papier-mâché figures by Frauke Lorenz under the title 'Mitten im Moment'.

Both artists deal with everyday moments in very different ways. For the viewer, this creates a high degree of recognition, sympathy and familiarity. Here, art becomes understandable and accessible. Everyone is addressed.

Info about the artists

  • Beate Perschbacher

Pharmacist Perschbacher from Babenhausen began to live out her creative streak 15 years ago and what was once a hobby quickly developed into a deep passion. Her work centres on people in everyday situations. She often takes her inspiration from photographs, which offer exciting challenges in terms of composition, colour and vibrancy. Her personal style is characterised by rough brushstrokes and intense colours. The pictures touch the viewer.

  • Frauke Lorenz

Frauke Lorenz wants to appeal to people emotionally with her figures. Since 2020, the visual artist has been creating expressive papier-mâché sculptures that show people in special and everyday moments. She captures moments that tell little stories through posture, facial expressions and movement. Each figure is unique - lively, full of character and narrative power.

Both artists have already taken part in many exhibitions and their art invites viewers to pause, recognise themselves and rediscover the lightness of everyday life.

The vernissage took place on 1 April with an introduction by city councillor Winno Sahm. On 12 April, the lyricist and artist Petra Blank surprised us with 'Poetry for free'. She sat in the gallery with her typewriter and wrote spontaneous poems for visitors to take away with them - also based on topics requested by the guests.
