Specialist area green spaces

The Green Spaces department is responsible for everything "green" in Rodgau. This includes the planning, care and maintenance of over 100 hectares of municipal green and leisure facilities. This includes the maintenance of lawns, shrubs and trees in large parks, roadside greenery, sports centres, playgrounds, outdoor kindergarten facilities and the maintenance of undeveloped land and the Rodau river.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Regular tree inspections of all 10,000 or so municipal trees, their maintenance and the control of pests such as the oak processionary moth
• Installation and maintenance of equipment in green spaces such as rubbish bins, benches and dog waste stations
• Inspection and, if necessary, repair of monuments and works of art within green spaces
• Setting up Christmas trees in the city during the Advent season
• Planning, operation and maintenance of municipal playgrounds and outdoor daycare centres
• Organising the regular inspection of play equipment and commissioning repairs as required, as well as procuring new play equipment
• Accepting reports of defects in playground equipment via the playground telephone
