Events: StVO - Permits and exceptions

Exceptions and authorisations in traffic

Who should I contact?

The road traffic authority of the town or municipality in whose district the event is taking place is responsible for issuing the permit, with the exception of towns and municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants. There, the district administrator is responsible as the road traffic authority.

A permit or special authorisation is issued following a written application. The road traffic authority examines the application and the documents submitted and consults the authorities to be involved (police and road construction authorities, forestry and nature conservation authorities).

The permit or exemption authorisation can be linked to conditions and requirements and to orders for traffic-regulating and traffic-restricting measures. These measures will be agreed in advance with the organiser.
