Declaration on accessibility (Stadtwerke)

Scope of application

This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the Stadtwerke Rodgau website published at www.stadtwerke-rodgau.de.

As a public body within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we endeavour to make our websites, web applications and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the provisions of the Hessian Disability Equality Act (HessBGG) and the Hessian Ordinance on Barrier-free Information Technology of 16 September 2019 (BITV HE) for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The accessibility requirements are set out in Section 3 (1) to (4) and Section 4 of the BITV HE, which was issued on the basis of Section 14 of the HessBGG.

The verification of compliance with the requirements is based on a simple check carried out by ekom21 - KGRZ Hessen on 21 August 2025.

Non-accessible content

Based on the review, the web application is partially compatible with the aforementioned requirements.

Incompatibility with the BITV HE

Based on a very precise analysis of the pages, with the aim of achieving further optimisation approaches in accessibility in the future, the following points were found. This does not mean that the pages do not function predominantly barrier-free, but is part of our high aspiration to permanently improve the site. The content listed below is therefore incompatible with Section 3(1) of the BITV HE and is not accessible for the following reasons:

Use of upheavals

  • Description: Several breaks were created using <br> tags.
  • Action: The <br> tags are removed.
  • Planning: In coordination with the service provider ekom21, efforts are being made to eliminate the barrier in the future.

Low contrasts

  • Description: There are links that do not have sufficient contrast to the background.
  • Action: The link colours are adjusted.
  • Planning: In coordination with the service provider ekom21, efforts are being made to eliminate the barrier in the future.

Heading structure

  • Description: The heading structure is partially incorrect.
  • Measure: The heading structure will be adapted.
  • Planning: The existing structure is analysed and work is carried out to rectify errors.

Empty headings

  • Description: There are empty headings.
  • Action: Empty headings are removed.
  • Schedule: The missing headings are being analysed and work is underway to rectify the errors.

Missing labels

  • Description: There are labels that are not visually perceptible.
  • Measure: Visible labels are implemented.
  • Planning: In coordination with the service provider ekom21, efforts are being made to eliminate the barrier in the future.

Decorative control elements

  • Description: Decorative control elements of screen readers are output.
  • Measure: Decorative control elements are hidden from the screen reader.
  • Planning: In coordination with the service provider ekom21, efforts are being made to eliminate the barrier in the future.

Graphics marked as decorative

  • Description: There are information-bearing graphics that have been labelled as decorative.
  • Measure: Information-bearing graphics receive an alternative text.
  • Planning: In coordination with the service provider ekom21, efforts are being made to eliminate the barrier in the future.

Document titles that are not meaningful

  • Description: Some of the document titles are not meaningful.
  • Action: The document titles are renamed.
  • Planning: The headings that are not meaningful are analysed and work is carried out to rectify the errors.

Keyboard focus

  • Description: The keyboard focus is not always visible.
  • Action: The keyboard focus is adjusted so that it is always visible.
  • Planning: In coordination with the service provider ekom21, efforts are being made to eliminate the barrier in the future.

Frequently changing content

  • Description: There are sliders without pause buttons, so that the content changes frequently.
  • Measure: A pause button is implemented.
  • Planning: In coordination with the service provider ekom21, efforts are being made to eliminate the barrier in the future.

This accessibility statement has been prepared on the basis of the above-mentioned testing in accordance with Implementing Decision EU 2018/1523 Article 3(1a).

Enforcement proceedings

If no satisfactory solution has been found even after your feedback to the above-mentioned contact, you can contact the Barrier-free Information Technology Enforcement and Monitoring Centre.
